# How to Configure SSO

Single Sign-On allows members to access the Peoplevine member portal using credentials from an external identity provider, eliminating the need for a separate Peoplevine password.

### Before you begin (Prerequisites)

* **Permissions**: You must be an **Administrator** or **Supervisor**. See: [How to Manage Users and Permissions](/products/control-panel-overview/admin-overview/manage-roles-permissions.md).

### SSO Configuration

Peoplevine supports SSO certificate configuration on the **Platform Settings** page. The page includes a **JWT SSO Certificate** field and a **SAML Certificate** field.

Detailed SSO configuration steps are maintained by your Peoplevine implementation team. Contact your account manager or <support@peoplevine.com> to plan and execute your SSO setup.

For developers building custom SSO integrations, the Peoplevine API provides an SSO bootstrap endpoint (`POST /api/token/sso/bootstrap`) documented in the API reference.

> **Note:** The Check-In App does not support SSO. Create a dedicated user account for the Check-In App instead.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.peoplevine.com/products/integrations-overview/configure-sso.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
