# How to See the Payment Method Used on a Transaction

### Before you begin (Prerequisites)

* **Permissions**: Administrator, Supervisor, Support, or Waitstaff. See: [How to Manage Users and Permissions](/products/control-panel-overview/admin-overview/manage-roles-permissions.md).

### Instructions

1. Navigate to [**SELL > View Transactions**](https://control.peoplevine.com/transactions).

> **Note (Pro Dash):** Navigate to **SELL > Transactions > View Transactions**.

2. Locate the transaction and click the **View** button (blue icon) to open the transaction detail.
3. Scroll to the **Payment Type** field. It shows the payment method used — card brand, masked card number, and a payment ID. For non-card payments it shows the type (cash, entry, giftcard, etc.).

> **Note**: The **Transaction ID** column on the list view also shows a summary of the payment method (e.g., "via creditcard", "via giftcard", "via cash") without needing to open the detail page.
