# How to Customize Form Branding

### Before you begin (Prerequisites)

* **Permissions**: You must be an **Administrator**, **Supervisor**, **Manager**, **Support**, or **Account Rep**. See: [How to Manage Users and Permissions](/products/control-panel-overview/admin-overview/manage-roles-permissions.md).
* **Existing Form**: The form must already exist. See: [How to Create a Form](/products/control-panel-overview/forms-overview/create-form.md).

### How It Works

Forms and applications are displayed inside a **page layout** that controls the header, footer, and styling of the page. To customize how a form or application page looks, you edit the page layout rather than the form itself.

### Instructions

1. Navigate to [**ENGAGE > Content > Manage Page Layouts**](https://control.peoplevine.com/admin_page_layouts.aspx) (under Layouts & Templates).

> **Note (Pro Dash)**: In Pro Dash, page layouts are found under **ENGAGE > Layouts & Templates > Manage Layouts**.

2. You will see a list of available page layouts. The layout marked as **default** is the one currently applied to your forms.
3. Click **Edit** on the layout you want to modify.
4. Update the header, footer, or CSS to match your branding.
5. Click **Preview** to verify your changes.
6. Save the layout.

> **Note**: Page layout customization involves editing HTML and CSS. If you need help with branding changes, contact your **Peoplevine Account Manager** or reach out to the **Peoplevine Support** team for assistance.

### Best Practice

Preview your changes before saving to ensure the branding displays correctly across forms, registration pages, and other Peoplevine-generated pages that use the same layout.

### What Happens Next

* **On the system side**: Branding changes apply to all pages that use the updated layout, including forms. Any visitor who opens a form using that layout will see the updated styling.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.peoplevine.com/products/control-panel-overview/forms-overview/customize-form-branding.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
